Science Olympiad Alumni in Space
Dorothy Metcalf-Lindenburger, a former Science Olympiad participant and coach from Colorado, launched into space aboard the shuttle Discovery on April 5th from Cape Canaveral, Florida. She was selected as a Mission Specialist by NASA in 2004 and completed her Astronaut Candidate Training in 2006. Dottie's former teacher and coach at Ft. Collins High School, Jack Lundt, attended the launch with his wife to show support for his award-winning student. Check out her official NASA bio or follow along with the mission on the NASA site!
