American Egg Board Recognizes Incredible Science Olympiad Students

Science Olympiad has partnered with the American Egg Board to reward the incredible achievements of Science Olympiad students across the US in 2009.  The AEB provided $1,000 college scholarships to the gold medal winners of our two egg-themed events, Scrambler for Division B (won by Solon Middle School) and Egg-O-Naut for Division C (North Carolina School of Science and Math), at the 2009 Science Olympiad National Tournament at Augusta State University on May 16. In addition, the AEB launched a web site highlighting Science Olympiad education activities for kids and families, recipes and information about the connection between good nutrition and a healthy mind and body.  To catch the excitement of students competing, AEB sent a crew to the Illinois State Science Olympiad Tournament and filmed both the Egg-O-Naut and Scrambler events, and sent a video release to all the major news outlets prior to the National Tournament.  The "eat incredible" web site also features stories about Science Olympiad students (from Troy HS) and teachers (Mary Wilde of Booth MS in Georgia) as part of their "Incredible People" national media campaign program.  We are proud to partner with this worthwhile organization and hope that the relationship yields egg-cellent benefits for students, parents and teachers alike (pun intended)!  Check out the American Egg Board web site for more information and an entire section devoted to Science Olympiad activities you can do at home!
