• Centers for Disease Control Office of Science Education  includes primer of epidemiology, problem sets and examples.
• Montclair State University site with a curriculum for teaching epidemiology at the middle school level.
• Young Epidemiology Scholars program  in addition to information on competition, this site contains a number of teaching modules that can be used in training. Although targeted at a high school audience, this material may be useful for training competitors at the middle school level.

• CDC Office of Science Education   This is maintained by CDC OSE.  The Science Olympiad pick includes problem sets from all past national Disease Detective national events and a number of state and local events.
• Morbidity and Mortality Weekly Report (MMWR) is CDCs weekly summary of disease trends and patterns as well as other significant health events and issues from throughout the world.
• Bad Bug Book  A compendium of bacteria, viruses, parasites and other causes of foodborn illness.

Many state health departments and medical schools have epidemiology information on their web sites.  Some have sample problems. A good textbook on epidemiology is also very helpful.
