Please clarify "adhesive tape". For example, when making a custom lamination, could one use a "transfer tape" which only leaves behind a layer of adhesive film?

Alternate methods of applying adhesive for joining wood pieces can be acceptable if no other materials including the support or backer material transfer with the adhesive and become part of the structure.
